Airline Reservation Code
The most important steps and information for participants to make their travel to Ostrava as easy as possible and for the LOC to have constantly the overview on all reservations in connection with Ostrava WYC 2007 are written below:

  • Travellers-participants to the Championships will be identified in the reservation system if they insert into every reservation of the CSA flights the following “TOUR CODE“: 1B07011. This code is valid only for CSA flights.
  • In every reservation there should also be the following “OSI ELEMENT“: OSI YY WORLD CHAMP IN ATHLETICS ATENDEE. This line will be visible for all operators, check-in staff at the airports, etc.
  • If there are more than 10 people travelling in both directions, then the following “NAME OF GROUP“ should be specified: WORLD CHAMP IN ATHLETICS OSR. This could also help in identifying distinctive travellers.
  • In case that non-standard luggage (poles, javelins) needs to be transported this must be put in the reservation to prevent possible complications.
  • The travellers should be also aware that in case a person will have more than one reservation with the same name and destination, the system will delete both automatically.

Contact persons in the Czech Airlines (CSA):

Airport Welcome
Welcome desks will be operating at both Leoš Janáček Airport in Ostrava and Prague International Airport. The staff will provide the necessary information and assistance to all arriving delegations prior to accreditation and accommodation assignments. There will be staff at the Vienna Airport too as well as at railway stations in Ostrava.

Attachés
Team attachés trained for this purpose will be assigned to each delegation upon arrival at the Airport. These volunteers will assist every one in baggage claim, transportation, accreditation, accommodation and other matters relevant to the Championships.

Vaulting Poles
We have been told that flights to Ostrava via Vienna are operated by small aircraft which are unlikely to be able to carry vaulting poles. It is strongly advised that any people travelling with vaulting poles arrange their trip to Ostrava via Prague. If, for whatever reason, the poles do not arrive with you on your flight, remember that you MUST make a claim at the Lost Luggage counter and ask for a receipt. Without this it will be impossible to claim the poles once they arrive.
