Visa



All Member Federations requiring visa to enter the Czech Republic are obliged to contact the Czech mission in their respective country or in the nearby country and to apply for the visa before leaving their country of origin. Without a valid visa they will not be allowed to enter the Czech Republic.

Instructions for applicants:

  • Fill in and sign an application form, attaching a passport-size photograph of the applicant (the visa form can be downloaded from the LOC website or from: www.mfa.cz/visaform).
  • Submit, together with the application form, the Invitation sent by the IAAF (a copy of which was sent and is available to the Czech missions and agencies abroad).
  • Submit a certificate of medical insurance to cover the cost of treatment in relation to an accident or sudden illness in the territory of the Czech Republic. Although this 5th IAAF World Youth Championships, Ostrava 2007 – Team Manual 9 is not necessarily a pre-requisite for issuing the visa, it is nevertheless required to enter the territory of the Czech Republic.
  • LOC providing all the necessary details (you can fill in the attached visa invitation request form). They shall then prepare the invitation letter and send it back to you with a copy to the relevant Czech Mission and IAAF.

Please be aware that visa procedures can vary from one country to another and it is therefore strongly advised that you contact the Czech Mission in your Country or Region well in advance to understand exactly what is required.

Visa upon arrival
The visa can only be issued upon arrival in the Czech Republic in really very, very urgent cases and in exceptional circumstances. The procedure is complicated, lengthy and expensive (each applicant will be charged CZK 800.00 – about USD $40.00). If you believe that there is no way for your federation to obtain a visa prior to your departure, then contact without delay the LOC for immediate assistance.
